packaging design

Good packaging plays a big role in how a product is noticed, handled, and remembered. We design packaging for everyday products that feels clear, well considered, and true to the brand, whether it is sitting on a shelf, being shipped out to customers, or used as part of a wider brand experience.

Our packaging design work is aimed at small to medium sized businesses, including coffee brands, food producers, sports companies, and growing Irish businesses. We focus on practical design that works in the real world, rather than over styling or unnecessary complexity.

What we design

Our packaging design work covers a range of everyday products and formats and applications. Below is some of our most common design applications.

We regularly work with coffee and food brands that need packaging which feels distinctive while remaining practical for production, storage, and distribution.

Coffee, Food & Beverage Packaging

Packaging design for products such as food, drink, merchandise, and consumer goods. We focus on clarity, brand recognition, and designs that work across different sizes and formats.

Product Packaging

We also design graphics for point of sale displays and display units used in retail and event environments. This includes counter units, shelf ready packaging, and branded display pieces designed to catch attention while still being practical to produce, assemble, and use.

Point of Sale & Display Units

Design for corrugated boxes and shipping packaging, where layout, structure, and print limitations need to be considered from the outset.

Packaging as Part of Your Brand

We see packaging as an extension of your brand identity. That means thinking about how it works alongside your logo, colours, and overall visual style, so everything feels consistent whether it appears online, in print, or in someone’s hands.

Designed for Real World Use

Packaging needs to hold up beyond the mock up stage. We design with materials, print methods, handling, and scale in mind, helping ensure the final result looks good and works as intended once it is produced and in use.

Working with Irish Manufacturers

We have experience working with several Irish packaging manufacturers and printers, which helps keep packaging projects grounded in what is actually achievable. Understanding production methods, materials, and print limitations early on allows us to design packaging that translates cleanly from screen to finished product.

This experience also makes the process smoother for small and medium sized businesses, helping avoid unnecessary revisions, delays, or surprises once a design moves into production.

Our Approach to Packaging Design

Our approach to packaging design is straightforward and collaborative.

We start by getting to know the product and the people behind it. What it is, how it’s used, where it will show up, and what it needs to say at a glance. The better we understand the product, the better the packaging design will work in the real world.

1: Understanding the Product

Packaging has a few rules, and that’s not a bad thing. We design with print methods, materials, and budgets in mind from the beginning, so ideas stay realistic and don’t fall apart once they leave the screen.

2: Design Within your Constraints

Once we’ve landed on a direction, we fine tune the details. This is where everything gets cleaned up, lined up, and prepared properly, making sure the artwork is clear, consistent, and ready for production.

3: Refinement & Preparation

When it’s time to send files to print, we’re happy to help with the handover. We make sure artwork is set up correctly and can answer any questions from printers or manufacturers along the way, so things run smoothly.

4: Production Support

Packaging design Experience

Ómra is a brand identity and packaging project developed for an Irish coffee company, exploring how a cohesive visual system can be applied across everyday packaging. The project included packaging design for coffee beans, takeaway cups, in store baked goods, and branded bags used within a coffee shop environment.

The focus was on creating packaging that felt warm, recognisable, and flexible, while working across different formats and materials commonly used by independent coffee brands.
